These last two weeks have been magical. Our two-week road trip from La Rochelle and Île de Ré to Lauzerte to Sarlat-Le-Canéda to Agen and on to Spain has come to an end. We spent several days very much offline in Spain before heading to Barcelona, and I was reminded not only of how much I overextend myself and how much vacation is important, but that time offline and fully present with loved ones really is.
These two images of bougainvillea are the only photos I took in a time period of a few days. As a travel photographer, that is very rare for me! I always have my camera in hand, as I love sharing all the beauty I see with others, but this was a great exercise is stepping back and taking some time just for us.
